One of Jesse’s all-time favorite Christmas movies is “Christmas with the Kranks.” The plot of this movie is simple, the Kranks are skippingChristmas. Unlike in the movie we are still decorating and spending time with those around us. As our family knows, we are skipping Christmas this year. We aren’t skipping the entire holiday, just the part of buying gifts for our families. The funds we would have spent on others is being spent on our adoption fees. Our families have been supportive of us in this decision, let’s be honest they would rather have a grandbaby or niece/nephew any day.

 I will have to say it was weird having Black Friday go by without going out with our lists, but at the same time it was nice not worryingabout what to get everyone. Don’t get me wrong, I love spending time picking out the right gift for each of our family members. It has been nice to be able to focus on the real reason for the season.

To our families, thank you for understanding why we have chosen to skip Christmas this year.
